Michael F. Schleigh is of counsel in the Yardley, PA office of Hill Wallack LLP where he is member of the Creditors’ Rights/Bankruptcy, Trial/Insurance, Trusts & Estates, and Municipal Law practice groups. He has handled a wide variety of litigations in his career ranging from defending municipalities from discrimination cased, complex commercial litigation, admiralty claims, estate litigation, bankruptcy, and various forms of malpractice matters.
Mr. Schleigh’s clients include state chartered banks, regional banks, national banks, county agencies, commercial landlords, local governments, and guardians of incapacitated person. He is the Solicitor for the Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging, an adult protective services agency. He has served as a municipal solicitor for communities and zoning boards in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Schleigh is admitted to practice in the State Courts of New Jersey and Federal Courts of New Jersey, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, The Eastern and Middle Federal District Courts of Pennsylvania, Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the State Courts of New York, and the Eastern and Southern Federal District Courts of New York. Mr. Kelner earned his Bachelors of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, his Juris Doctorate degree from Rutgers University School of Law in Camden and his Masters of Trial Advocacy in Law from the Beasley School of Law at Temple University. Mr. Schleigh was a law clerk for the late Honorable William J. Cook, J.S.C., Camden County.Representative Matters- Since joining the firm, Mr. Schleigh has successfully prosecuted dozens of incapacity adjudications and has guardians appointed to exploited seniors on behalf of an adult protective services agency
- Successfully tried a foreclosure action in Philadelphia county
- Successfully argued an appeal reversing a directed verdict and remand for re-trial in a foreclosure matter
- Successfully had convicted felons disqualified from appearing on election ballots in municipal races in Pennsylvania
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Schleigh has handled a wide variety of cases including:- Successfully arresting a tugboat on behalf of a creditor in an admiralty action
- Defending a nursing home against a national Plaintiff’s firm;s allegations of negligence resulting in a minimal exposure verdict
- Defending a contractor from claims of a county government resulting in the withdrawal of their claims and payment on counterclaims in full for construction work.
