The Internal Investigations team at Hill Wallack LLP includes several former prosecutors; as well as attorneys with over 20 years’ experience in employment and labor law, school law and municipal law, all of which are necessary to ensure a thorough and productive investigation. Our attorney investigators also have significant experience in the area of forensic sciences.

    While Hill Wallack LLP engages in investigations of various entities, their experience with school districts is unique. Having attorneys who have been elected public School Board members, University Trustees as well as maintaining over 20 school and other municipality solicitorships, the firm is well qualified to work in the public school dynamic.

    Each School District exists in an environment of ever-expanding laws and regulations relating to not only the educational process but privacy concerns, special educational requirements and increasing technology needs. Often, the application of these laws and regulations coupled with the performance demanded of the School District creates misunderstandings, distrust and a perception that the School District either is unwilling or unable to resolve issues where competing and often adverse interests collide in the public arena. When these circumstances occur, oftentimes the utilization of independent, outside counsel with knowledge of the relevant laws and regulations along with experience and skills to effectively investigate issues, develop effective media and PR strategies, as well as recommend appropriate actions, can be of great assistance to both the School District and its legal counsel.

Partner David J .Truelove is a recognized labor lawyer who has successfully represented municipalities, school districts and other public entities throughout Bucks County, Montgomery County and the surrounding region in a wide variety of high-profile collective bargaining matters, including contract negotiations, grievances, arbitrators and unfair labor practices and organizing matters. His experience includes representation before the National Labor Relations Board, Pennsylvania and New Jersey Federal Courts, the US Court Of Claims, as well as all levels of Pennsylvania State Courts.
