    Land Use Attorney

    Hill Wallack LLP is looking for a full time New Jersey licensed attorney with 3 - 7 years’ land use experience, ideally including affordable housing matters.     Commercial Real Estate, Banking and REO Paralegal

    We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commercial Real Estate, Banking and REO Paralegal to support our legal team with a variety of tasks related to real estate transactions and commercial lending. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of real estate law, title and survey review, loan documentation, and closing coordination. This position requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and strong communication with clients, lenders, and title companies. Candidate also willing to work on REO real estate sale transaction and Deed-in-Lieu for busy law firm creditor rights department. From time to time, candidate might be asked to help on residential real estate files when volume necessitates same. Primarily transactions will be in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania but from time to time there will be transaction throughout the country.

    Responsibilities:
    • Assist attorneys in handling all aspects of commercial real estate transactions from inception to closing.
    • Prepare, review, and organize real estate documents including purchase agreements, leases, easements, and deeds.
    • Conduct and review title and survey analysis; identify and resolve title and survey issues.
    • Coordinate due diligence, including zoning, environmental, and corporate document reviews.
    • Draft and manage closing checklists; track deadlines and documentation for real estate and lending transactions.
    • Order, review, and summarize UCC, judgment, and lien searches.
    • Assist in preparing loan closing documents, including promissory notes, mortgages/deeds of trust, and security agreements.
    • Coordinate and/or attend closings; prepare closing binders and post-closing documentation.
    • Communicate with clients, lenders, title companies, and opposing counsel to facilitate transaction closings.
    • Maintain electronic and physical file organization in accordance with firm policies.

    Qualifications:
    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree a plus; Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
    • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal in commercial real estate and/or banking.
    • Strong knowledge of real estate and loan closing processes.
    • Familiarity with ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, title commitments, and endorsements.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with legal practice management software is a plus.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines.

    Preferred Skills:
    • Experience with commercial real estate development or construction loan closings.
    • Familiarity with local/state filing requirements and electronic recording systems.
    • Notary Public certification a plus.

    Chicago Legal Asst. (Creditors Rights Litigation)

    Hill Wallack, LLP is currently seeking a legal assistant in our Creditor’s Rights department in their Chicago office. The candidate should have 7 + years' experience with creditors rights litigation. This position will assist and provide a range of legal support to lawyers and other legal professionals overseeing creditor’s rights litigation across the county. Specific duties and responsibilities include the following:
    • Organize and track litigation cases currently being handled by the creditor’s rights litigation team;
    • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, written discovery, and other related documents;
    • Prepare correspondence and oversee service of said correspondence;
    • Prepare proofs of service and serve various legal documents;
    • Communicate with clients via email and third party systems, such as Legal Tracker and LPS systems;
    • Organize, analyze and cross-check/validate information;
    • Ensure timely and accurate billing of attorney time and costs billable to a client;
    • Timely respond to tasks assigned by the creditor’s rights litigation team; and
    • Other duties as assigned.

    IMMEDIATE OPENING – Legal Assistant – Creditor’s Rights/Foreclosure - Hill Wallack LLP has an immediate opening for a legal assistant to provide secretarial support to the Creditor’s Rights and Foreclosure Department in their Orlando, Florida office. Creditor's rights and particularly foreclosure experience a plus.

    Responsibilities include assisting attorneys and other staff as needed. Tasks generally include drafting, responding to correspondence and updating client systems. The position requires substantial coordination with other legal assistants, paralegals and attorneys in multi-disciplinary team environment. This individual must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software programs.

    The qualified Legal Secretary will be a team player who can manage independent projects in a deadline-driven environment while utilizing strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. The candidate must be willing to work in the Orlando, Florida office, with the opportunity of some remote work after 90 days.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Consistently and accurately updating the firm’s internal case management system, as well as all clients’ systems.
