    Hill Wallack LLP Partner Michael J. Shavel to speak at NBI Collection and Bankruptcy Seminar

    Yardley, PA. – Michael J. Shavel, partner in Hill Wallack LLP’s Yardley office, will be a featured speaker at the National Business Institute’s Collection Law and Bankruptcy Law oneday live seminar being held in Atlantic City on November 9, 2011. This seminar will be a learning platform for both post-judgment collection strategies and bankruptcy filing procedures.

    Mr. Shavel will examine Chapter 7 and 13 procedures including selecting the most beneficial chapter for clients; the initial client interview and getting started; as well as means testing. He will also discuss preparing the filing including petition, schedules and statements as well as formulating a confirmable Chapter 13 plan containing requirements and calculations. He will also review dismissal and conversion issues.

    As a member of Hill Wallack LLP’s Creditor’s Rights and Bankruptcy practice group, Mr. Shavel concentrates on bankruptcy reorganizations and workouts, and debt and equity restructuring. He represents clients in the health care, financial services and other industry sectors.

    Mr. Shavel is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; state of New Jersey; state of New York; U.S. District Court for New Jersey; U.S. Court of Appeals, Third District; U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania; U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida; and all federal district courts in New York.
