Hill Wallack LLP Partner Featured Speaker at National Community Association Law Seminar
Princeton, NJ – Ronald L. Perl, partner of Hill Wallack LLP, was a featured speaker at the 33rd Annual Community Association Law Seminar in Palm Springs, California sponsored by the Community Associations Institute (CAI). The seminar ran January 26 – January 28 and was attended by over 400 lawyers and community association managers throughout the country. It explored trends and practices in the law of homeowner associations, condominiums, and residential cooperatives. There were 29 educational programs were provided.
Mr. Perl presented a seminar on “Qualified Mortgages: New Standards, New Challenges.” The topic concerned new proposed regulations governing qualified mortgages and qualified residential mortgages, which regulations will establish new standards for borrowers and mortgage underwriting. The new regulations result from the Dodd-Frank Act, which is federal legislation intended, among other things, to restructure the mortgage finance industry.
The Chair of Hill Wallack LLP’s Community Association Practice Group, Mr. Perl is a member of the national College of Community Association Lawyers. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers Law School and is a graduate from Rutgers College.
Mr. Perl is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania as well as before the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. He is an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall Law School where he teaches a course on Community Association Law. He is former national President of the Community Associations Institute and serves as a Commissioner of the National Board of Community Association Managers. He also is a member of several national, state and county bar associations and is a past chairman of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Common Interest Ownership Committee.
