HILL WALLACK’S MICHAEL KAHME SWORN IN AS PRESIDENT OF MERCER COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION
Focus will be on membership development and promoting local charities

March 1, 2022 – (Princeton, NJ): Hill Wallack LLP Managing Partner Michael Kahme, who has been a practicing attorney for 36 years, was sworn in as the president of the Mercer County Bar Association on Feb. 24.

Kahme, the founding partner of Hill Wallack’s Creditors’ Rights/Bankruptcy practice, has risen through the bar association’s ranks and said his focus as its 83rd president will be membership development and giving back to the community by promoting local charities.

The bar association’s mission is to serve its members and to help the public in matters pertaining to the law and the legal system as well as to promote the administration of justice in Mercer County, the state of New Jersey and the U.S.

“I am honored to be elected president and excited to serve this respected organization,’’ said Kahme, who will serve a one-year term. “I look forward to working alongside the trustees and officers. I greatly value their input and respect their commitment.”

As part of his strategy, Kahme will work with the bar association’s Young Lawyers and Membership committees to host joint events. His membership plans also include conducting continuing legal education (CLE) programs geared toward younger lawyers.

Kahme said he is excited to lead the bar association during what he said will be a transformative year.

“I look forward to in-person bar association events that are vitally important to our profession,” said Kahme, a 35-year member of the Mercer County Bar Association where he has served as a trustee, its secretary, treasurer, vice president and president-elect.

Kahme received his J.D. from the University of Miami Law School in 1985. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Rochester in 1982. He graduated from North Arlington (New Jersey) High School in 1978.

United States Bankruptcy Court Judge Christine M. Gravell swore in Kahme during the organization’s general meeting and installation dinner at the Mercer Oaks Golf Course in West Windsor, New Jersey.

    Kahme begins his duties immediately.
