Megha R. Thakkar will be among a panel of six women leaders of the bench and bar, sharing their insights, knowledge, and experiences. Megha will share her experiences as a woman leader in the legal profession, including the role of the bar association in her career development, overcoming obstacles along the way, and how she manages to find balance, while handling a busy family law litigation and mediation practice.
In addition to the seminar, the evening will pay tribute to the Honorable Jamie D. Happas, honoring her retirement after her distinguished career serving on the Middlesex County Bench for the past two decades.
About the Speaker:Megha R. Thakkar is Counsel in the Princeton, New Jersey office of Hill Wallack LLP, where she is a member of the firm’s Family Law practice group. Megha represents clients in all aspects of matrimonial and family law, including divorce litigation, mediation, and arbitration, custody and parenting time issues, alimony and child support disputes, post-judgment applications, marital settlement agreements, prenuptial agreements, and domestic violence litigation. She also handles complex issues of equitable distribution including distribution of businesses, stock options, and restricted stock units. Megha also addresses allocation of pensions and other retirement accounts in connection with divorce matters, including distribution of New Jersey State Pensions, particularly the Police and Firemen’s Retirement System (PFRS), the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS), and the Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF). Megha is also qualified mediator in family law matters pursuant to R. 1:40.
