Supti Bhattacharya to Moderate Program on How the "Model Minority" Experiences Discrimination

Presented by: Mercer County Bar Association

Sponsored by: South Asian Bar Association of New Jersey and Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey

On Tuesday, May 11 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, Supti Bhattacharya will moderate a panel on understanding how the “model minority” experiences discrimination in the legal profession.

A timely seminar during Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month, practitioners from the Asian American and South Asian communities will discuss the  microaggressions and unconscious biases they face and attendees will learn how to be an ally and intervene when they witness these events in their firms, in the courtroom and in the profession.

Supti Bhattacharya is Chair of the Family Law Practice Group. She litigates cases throughout New Jersey in the areas of family law and matrimonial law, including divorce, custody, domestic violence and grandparent rights. Her bilingual English-Bengali background and Indian American upbringing have been an important part of her client services to the South Asian community of New Jersey for nearly 20 years.
