Statement Against Anti-Asian Racism and Hate

Our nation has been rocked by violence directed at individuals and groups based on skin color, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual preference, and/or disability. The senseless and tragic deaths of too many Americans, including the recent attacks in Georgia, remind us that in a country as great as America, many are still subjected to verbal harassment, physical assault, and worse, rooted solely in prejudice and hatred. America is better than that.

Discrimination and prejudice in any form, directed at anyone, based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual preference or disability—are wrong, plain and simple. We cannot tolerate, encourage or countenance violence in any form, and must unite together against it when it emanates from discrimination, bias and prejudice. As lawyers we must not stand idly by while these tragic events occur. Silence and inaction are unacceptable. Our profession must be at the forefront of countering these threats to the bedrock principles upon which this nation was founded—equality, liberty and justice.

At Hill Wallack we practice our beliefs. Diversity and inclusion are important values that guide us as a Firm, and the diversity of lawyers and staff make us better. Our efforts on behalf of our clients, in our communities, and in our profession reflect these values and inform our interactions in all aspects of our practice. Hill Wallack is committed to these principles and strives to foster tolerance, equality, fairness and, most significantly, as lawyers, justice for all.
