Update On New Jersey Legislation Affecting Community Association Collections

      Client Alert

      Written by: Ronald L. Perl

Committees of both the Assembly and Senate have approved A3908/S2330 in versions which protect the rights of community associations to continue collecting delinquent assessments. In response to our earlier alert, many of you have contacted members of the State Legislature and those contacts have helped achieve this result. HOWEVER, the fight is not over, since the floor votes in both houses will not take place until next week and further amendments are possible. It is important to continue contacting our representatives so they don’t forget how important this is to community associations. The Assembly bill that was approved can be found here and the Senate version can be found here.

If you have questions about this or any other issues with your community association, please contact one of our community associations attorneys.
