    BANKRUPTCY ASSOCIATE

    About the Opportunity

    Our Princeton office has an immediate opening for an associate attorney to handle matters from a creditor's perspective arising under the United States Bankruptcy Code. We are searching for a self-motivated and energetic attorney to work as part of our team. The ideal candidate will work with other attorneys and legal support staff under the direction of a partner.

    Essential Duties:

    • Licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice in federal courts in New Jersey
    • Licensed to practice in federal courts of other states, particularly Pennsylvania helpful
    • Travel to hearings in New Jersey as needed. Travel to hearings in other states, particularly Pennsylvania as needed
    • Familiarity with significant events in chapter 7 and chapter 13 cases
    • Excellent writing and research skills
    • Able to monitor simple and complex chapter 7 and chapter 13 cases
    • Able to understand and analyze chapter 7 and chapter 13 cases
    • Determine the need for responses and objections to significant events in bankruptcy cases
    • Draft responses and objections to significant events in bankruptcy cases as needed
    • Draft applications, motions, briefs, and related pleadings in bankruptcy cases as needed
    • Communicate effectively with staff, opposing counsel and bankruptcy court personnel
    • Other duties as assigned

    Preferred Experience:

    The candidate should have minimum 5 years of bankruptcy experience. Must have a strong work ethic, organizational skills, inter-personal and social skills, and be a self-starter.


    WORKERS' COMPENSATION ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

    Candidate should have 1 + years of experience handling personal injury and/or workers’ compensation claims. Excellent research, writing and communication skills required.

    LITIGATION 

    Candidate should have 2 - 5 years of experience in general and/or commercial litigation. Experience litigating insurance coverage matters preferred, but not required. Excellent research, writing and communication skills required. Judicial clerkship preferred.

    GENERAL / CONSTRUCTION LITIGATION

    Candidate should have 2 - 5 years of experience in general and/or construction litigation. Excellent research, writing and communication skills required.

    LEGAL SECRETARY- IMMEDIATE OPENING

    Cedar Knolls (Morris County) law firm seeking intelligent, organized, and self-motivated individual with 2 + years residential real estate, transactional, wills and estate preparation and administration experience. Candidate should have ability to work independently, have good communication and computer skills. Must be able to multi task, have knowledge of drafting legal correspondence and basic legal documents. Must be very proficient in typing skills & a team player. Knowledge of Document Management Software (i.e. Worldox) and Dictaphone a plus. Competitive salary commensurate with experience.     Responsibilities Include

    • Operates a computer, utilizing appropriate software; transcribe dictation, if applicable.
    • Types legal papers and correspondence of legal nature.
    • Creates and maintains files
    • Composes routine correspondence, prepares documents of legal nature such as contracts, estate planning documents with direction from attorneys.
    • Screens telephone calls and records messages.
    • Reads, sorts and dates incoming mail. Ensures that outgoing mail is timely delivered. Maintains calendar and deadline reminder systems.
    • Opens new files, requests conflict of interest checks, and maintains all client and general files. Conducts periodic review for possible storage of older files; prepares files to be closed.
    • Receives clients and visitors; maintains good public relations with clients; observes confidentiality of attorney-client relationship.

    BANKRUPTCY/CREDITORS' RIGHTS PARALEGAL

    Candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience as a paralegal in the area of bankruptcy and creditors’ rights. Strong administrative skills, such as accurate typing, proofreading, spelling and grammar, are necessary. Knowledge of e-filing is required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe. Knowledge of LPS and Tempo preferred. This position is for someone seeking to work independently within the support of a team environment. Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
