Amani S. Abdellah is counsel in the Princeton and Cherry Hill, N.J. offices, where she is a member of the Community Associations practice group.
Amani represents condominium and homeowner associations throughout New Jersey on all legal matters. She advises the associations on general corporate matters, drafting and enforcement of contracts as well as internal rules and regulations, interpretation and revisions of governing documents and transition and pursuing construction defect litigation. Amani also advises and updates her clients on local, state and federal regulations impacting planned real estate developments.
Amani is also experienced in alternative dispute resolution, having mediated numerous matters. She is an accomplished litigation and appellate attorney, handling commercial and bankruptcy matters.
Amani was selected for the inaugural edition of the 2021 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch list. She was also recently selected as a fellow in the New Jersey Bar Association’s prestigious Leadership Academy.
Prior to her years in civil practice, Amani served for five years as an assistant prosecutor, where she handled adult prosecutions of all types, including an assignment with the Special Victim’s Unit. During her tenure as an Assistant Prosecutor, Amani negotiated hundreds of plea agreements and tried several cases including juvenile and adult sexual assault cases. She also served as her office’s bias crimes liaison and one of the human trafficking liaisons.
Amani is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. She earned her J.D. from Rutgers Law School and graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers University. Amani is also a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
Amani is passionate about service and scholarship. She has been a mentor with the New Jersey LEEP program since 2020 and serves on her local chapter’s scholarship committee for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.Leadership
