    Michael J. Shavel To Speak At Upcoming Pennsylvania Bar Institute Continuing Legal Education Seminars

    Yardley, PA December 2, 2014 --- Hill Wallack LLP partner Michael J. Shavel will be speaking at three upcoming continuing legal education seminars entitled Short Sales, Deeds in Lieu and Receiverships, hosted by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. These courses are designed to educate attorneys for lenders and borrowers in short sales, deeds-in-lieu and receiverships so that they can advise clients when traditional foreclosure isn’t the best solution.

    Mr. Shavel will provide an overview of working through the foreclosure process when the borrower wants out. Short Sales, Deeds in Lieu and Receiverships seminars will be held in Mechanicsburg on Wednesday, December 3, 2014; in Philadelphia, on Friday, December 12, 2014; and in Pittsburg on Monday, December 15, 2014. Check-in and lunch begin at 11:30am followed by the program from 12:00 noon to 4:15 pm.

    Mr. Shavel is a member of the firm’s Banking & Financial Services and Creditors’ Rights/Bankruptcy practice groups with over 22 years of experience exclusively practicing in the lending, banking and creditors’ rights field. Mr. Shavel advises lenders on compliance with UCC Article 9, intercreditor relationships, as well as work out and creditor’s rights in bankruptcy. In addition, he has extensive experience as a closing attorney representing national banks, community banks, credit unions and other financial institutions in connection with SBA financing, including 7(a) and 504 loans.

    Admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the state of New Jersey and the state of New York, Mr. Shavel received his J.D. from Ohio Northern University with honors and his B.A. from Drew University.
