COAH Chairman Joseph Doria Resigns Amidst Corruption Probe

By: Henry T. Chou, Esq.

DCA Commissioner and COAH Chairman Joseph Doria resigned on July 23, 2009 after the FBI raided his home in Bayonne and his office in Trenton in connection with an ongoing corruption probe.

Although Mr. Doria has not been not arrested or charged with any crimes, Governor Corzine requested and received his resignation effective immediately. At this point, a replacement has not been named to fill the vacant positions, but it is likely that Governor Corzine will appoint temporary replacement(s) shortly. In the meantime, it appears that COAH will continue to operate normally, without disruption.
