Anthony Muscente, Jr.
is a partner of Hill Wallack LLP.
He is a partner in the Real
Estate Division and member of
the Banking & Secured
Transactions Practice Group.
Mr. Muscente concentrates his
practice in all aspects of
sophisticated commercial and
residential real estate in addition
to matters of banking and secured
transactions, including site
acquisitions and assemblage,
development and redevelopment,
leasing, registration of public
offerings for planned communities,
land use, acquisition financing,
construction financing and
refinancing, loan modification,
restructuring, loan documentation,
workouts, foreclosures and closings.
He has provided representation in
connection with one of the largest
brownfields redevelopment projects
in the United States and on other
numerous redevelopment projects
throughout the State of New Jersey.
The projects include transit
villages and projects in Atlantic
City and the Meadowlands District.
Mr. Muscente also has a practice
concentration in commercial
litigation with particular emphasis
on commercial collections and
commercial landlord-tenancy matters.
His experience includes the areas of
environmental and construction
regulation, permitting and
litigation and business entity
formation and representation,
including profit and non profit
entities, estate planning and
administration, workers'
compensation and social security
disability claims. In addition, he
provides services as a mediator and
is listed on the New Jersey Superior
Court's Roster of Approved Mediators
for Civil, General Equity and
Probate cases.
Mr. Muscente previously served as
Deputy Attorney General in the
Environmental Permitting and
Counseling Section of the New Jersey
Attorney General's office. He
represented various state agencies
including the New Jersey Meadowlands
Commission, the State Soil
Conservation Committee and the New
Jersey Department of Environmental
Protection.
A graduate of Cornell University,
College of Arts and Sciences, Mr.
Muscente earned his law degree from
Southwestern University, School of
Law. He has also attained a
Diplomate in New Jersey Municipal
Law from Rutgers University's Bureau
of Government Research and has been
a speaker on the regulatory process
under the New Jersey Soil Erosion
and Sediment Control Act.
Mr. Muscente is active in several
professional organizations,
including the Mercer County and New
Jersey State Bar Associations. He is
a member of the Community Projects
Committee of the Mercer County Bar
Association. Mr. Muscente is also
active in many charitable and
community organizations. He has been
a Trustee of Project Freedom, a
non-profit corporation that develops
and operates barrier free housing
and support services to enable
individuals with physical
disabilities to live independently.
In addition, he is a volunteer with
numerous youth recreational sports
leagues.
Mr. Muscente is admitted to
practice in New Jersey (1985) and in
Washington, D.C. (1986).
