The Community Association Law Practice Group of
Hill Wallack LLP counsels condominium and homeowner associations, cooperatives and real
estate developers throughout New Jersey
and Eastern Pennsylvania. It offers an extensive variety of services
to associations including assessment collection, document interpretation, rules enforcement and transition representation.
The Group counsels developers from
the project registration process
through transition, with an emphasis
on loss prevention.
Recognized for insight and innovation in community association law for more than
25 years, the Group works closely with association governing boards and committees, management companies and other professionals to ensure the proper and cost-effective operation of
community associations.
Our attorneys handle all issues confronting common interest communities
and developers ranging from fair housing and telecommunications matters to multi-million dollar construction defect litigation.
In keeping with its commitment to provide clients with complete and thorough legal counsel,
the Community Association Law Practice Group works in conjunction with several of the
firm's other areas of practice to address matters relating to Employment & Labor Law,
Environmental Law, Trial & Insurance, Land Use, Creditors' Rights/Bankruptcy and other
areas important to community associations while maintaining constant communication with,
and rapid response to, its clients.
The Community Association Law Practice Group has the necessary experience to provide
clients with the most effective legal representation. For example, the Group assigns a high
priority to assessment collection and has implemented an extremely aggressive collection process
which includes, when necessary, marking the credit reports of delinquent owners and obtaining
rent levies. In addition, the attorneys work with paralegals who devote full-time attention to
assessment collection.
Each of the attorneys takes an active role in the community association industry and
participates in publication, seminar presentations and course instruction on a myriad of
community association topics. Two partners of the Community Association Law Practice Group
are members of the prestigious College of Community Association Lawyers, an organization that
recognizes experience and excellence in the community association field.
